SHAKLEE CORPORATION INCLUDED IN EPA TOP 20 GREEN POWER PARTNERSHIP

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Purchase of 100% green power totally offset Shaklee's greenhouse gas emissions.

PLEASANTON, Calif. – November 17, 2008 – Shaklee Corporation has just been named to the Top 20 Retail Partner List with the US Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Green Power Partnership. The combined green power purchases of these organizations amount to more than 1.8 billion kilowatt-hours of green power annually, which is the equivalent amount of electricity needed to power more than 170,000 average American homes each year.

“Our nation is shifting to a 'green culture', with more and more Americans understanding that environmental responsibility is everyone's responsibility," said EPA Administrator Stephen L. Johnson. "EPA commends Shaklee Corporation for making a long-term commitment to protecting the environment by purchasing green power."

The EPA Green Power Partnership top partner rankings highlight the annual green power purchases of leading organizations within the United States and across individual industry sectors. These green power purchases help reduce the environmental impacts of electricity use and support the development of new renewable generation capacity nationwide.

Roger Barnett, Shaklee Chairman and CEO, is proud of Shaklee's addition to this prestigious grouping, "We are pleased to be part of a group of companies that are showing leadership in helping reduce our impact on our planet and we hope that many more join us in the future."

In 2000, Shaklee Corporation became the first company in the world to be to be Climate Neutral™ certified to totally offset its greenhouse gas emissions, resulting in a net-zero impact on the environment. In 2002, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency awarded Shaklee with the EPA Climate Protection award to recognize Shaklee's exceptional leadership, outstanding innovation, personal dedication, and technical achievements in climate protection.

In 2007, Shaklee was the first consumer products company to offset 100 percent of its greenhouse gas emissions through the U.S. EPA Climate Leaders program and use 100% green power. That same year, Shaklee partnered with the United Nation's Millennium Promise to promote the use of renewable energy sources as a sustainable model in African villages. As part of its commitment to this program, Shaklee worked with Millennium Promise scientists and technicians to facilitate direct emission reductions through the installation of solar energy in the African country of Malawi. The Millennium Village solar installation was used to provide a combination of LED (light emitting diode) lighting and solar photovoltaic technologies that provide better and safer lighting than kerosene wick-lamps.

Barnett adds, "Shaklee is committed to offsetting 100% of our greenhouse gas emissions and we are proud to do our part to encourage the development and purchase of renewable energy sources and promote solar energy."
