In Harmony with Nature —
Theresia Radtke

Home: Plymouth, Michigan
Age: 25

"When we choose products from a company with a conscience, we can make a difference. I can help others live a more environmentally friendly life."

Background:
Environmental educator

Introduction:
Theresia's mother had a Shaklee business for years, so as a "Shaklee kid" Theresia grew up with the products. After undergraduate school, she saw the opportunity Shaklee offered to help her work toward fulfilling her own dreams. She began her Shaklee business to support herself, while pursuing graduate studies in environmental education.

The Decision:
Meeting Shaklee Chairman and CEO Roger Barnett and hearing his vision for the future made
Theresia realize that Shaklee was a company that could speak to Generation Y as clearly as it's spoken to others for 50 years.

Why Shaklee:
As one of the newest generations of Shaklee Distributors, she loves introducing the products
and the earning opportunity to people her age. "Some are intrigued by the products, some by the opportunity," she explained. "But really, my generation wants to make a difference in the world, and Shaklee can provide the way."

Her Opportunity:
The Shaklee opportunity allows her to dramatically expand the thinking behind her original teaching vocation. She now works toward a long-term goal of opening an environmentally focused school for children.

Changing the planet one person, one meal at a time —
Margaret Trost

Home: Berkeley, California
Age: 43

"There's a Creole saying ‘little by little we will arrive,' and it's true. Small step by small step,
you can make big things happen. I've seen that in my Shaklee business and in life."

Background:
Shaklee entrepreneur for 15 years

Introduction:
Originally a public television producer for many years, Margaret was ready to leave TV production and sought an opportunity to work more closely with other people and to make
a difference in their lives. She met a Shaklee Distributor and began selling products in her
spare time.

The Decision:
Margaret decided to commit herself full-time to Shaklee when her son Luke was born in 1992.

Why Shaklee:
Margaret has felt the difference of the Shaklee nutritional products in her own life, crediting
them with her great health and that of her customers. A believer in Shaklee product quality
and integrity, she's equally passionate about the people and the atmosphere of support, whether it's sharing a technique with a colleague across the country or an encouraging word to a fellow Distributor. However, the Shaklee support that meant the most to Margaret was the ability of her business to support her family when her husband unexpectedly died.
"I needed to pull back for a while, taking care of Luke and myself. But my business still grew.
My customers reordered and the Distributors in my business kept building their own businesses," she explains. "My income was solid and steady in a period in which I was not. For that, I'll always be grateful."

Her Opportunity:
Much like that chance meeting with a Shaklee Distributor 15 years ago, Margaret stumbled upon a chance to help thousands. She accepted a last-minute invitation on a two-week volunteer project in Haiti. Knowing little about the country, she arrived and was devastated by the tremendous need.

Returning home, she shared her desire to make a difference much in the same way she grew her Shaklee business—conversation by conversation, contact by contact. Soon checks began arriving. Today her What If? Foundation feeds children in Haiti five days a week, serving 800 to 1000 people daily. She now devotes half of her time to this personal mission, half to her Shaklee business and the many people who are part of it. "Shaklee makes it possible for me to earn enough to support my family and also build my foundation."

Opportunity Keeps Knocking —
Tommy Wyatt

Home: Stamford, Connecticut
Age: 41

"I don't understand why anybody wouldn't be in this business. If you want to put a lot into it,
you could be a millionaire. If you want to put a little bit into it, you can make an extra couple
hundred bucks a month."

Background:
A former sports editor at a local newspaper

Introduction:
Tommy had phenomenal success with direct sales in another product category—until the company folded. Courted by many, he signed on with Shaklee after a meeting with Shaklee Chairman and CEO Roger Barnett. More than a year later, he's never looked back.

Why Shaklee:
While many Shaklee members are product devotees first and foremost, Tommy initially saw the earning opportunity and then became a convert to the power of the products through his business. Shaklee's global vision and untapped growth potential for products and the network made it the best of many offers he considered.

For Tommy, income opportunity was just the beginning. "It starts with extra money, but soon you realize its freedom—I don't have to hit the snooze alarm—over and over—before I force myself into traffic. Just by talking to people, I can build the life I want, and I am."

His Opportunity:
Inspired by the phenomenal success of Shaklee Distributors even in the days before the internet and e-mail, Tommy saw an untapped opportunity of innovative marketing to an entirely new segment: Generation Next—18 to 27 year olds. By talking about the opportunity online, he finds others do the same, and his business has quickly spanned three states.
Tommy now runs his business from home, watching his young daughter and nurturing his young but thriving Shaklee business. "I'm a cuddly stay-at-home dad with big dreams and ambitions."
